See the individual topics for details. To do these tests, enter some data, then select the required option from this menu. A dialog will be presented. You can select the samples by clicking their title names in the top list column (Shift-click to select a contiguous range, and Command-click to select or deselect individual titles). Note that some need only 1 selection, but can have more than one selected and will sequentially work these out (eg Descriptive Statistics, Confidence Intervals, Mode), whilst others need 2 samples. Note also that if you select samples with unequal sample sizes for tests of paired data, then you will be told that this is not possible (Sign Test, Wilcoxon Paired, Paired t-test, Correlation, Linear Regression). The Mann-Whitney and Independent t-test options will accept samples of different sizes since they do not require paired data samples.
The Contingency menu item works a little differently. For the Contingency table option, you must have entered the values in the spreadsheet as a table of numbers in each group. For example, if you have things which are either A or not A, and are either B or not B, then a two by two table could be set up counting the frequency of each of the 4 possible combinations: A B, A not B, not A B, not A, not B. The counts should be entered into the spreadsheet using the same format as in your contingency (or frequency) table. If you select these rows and columns before choosing the Contingency option, you will find these are already entered correctly for you, so you only need to click the OK button.
